We have sought to record changes in its condition acquired after its original manufacture.
- There is some wear overall to all parts including chips to lacquer edges revealing iron beneath, dents and scratches.
- Losses of lacquer to the shikoro of the helmet and a break to the lower level of the neck guard which has been repaired with rivets.
- The mempo is held in position with wire.
- Some rust to iron parts.
- All lacing is worn with fraying and some splits, especially to the helmet where some lacing has been replaced with modern wires. The shin guards are worn with a split along the edge of leather and the lacing is frayed and detached.
- Brocade with wear including surface marks and some tears.
- The modern display box is open on one side and has some surface wear.
