MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH – EARLY 20TH CENTURY)
A set of shelves and compartments with variously pierced galleries and friezes with slightly upcurved top edges, the upper-left compartment lined with gold leaf and enclosed by two sliding doors consisting of brocade over a lattice of wood frame above the panels inlaid in mother-of-pearl with a geometric design, the upper right compartment enclosed by a pair of hinged doors with wood frame and shippo-roundel decoration, the bottom narrow compartment enclosed by two sliding doors inlaid in various coloured woods with a geometric design, gilt copper fittings with flower and foliage design
