The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Cup and saucer to the left of the catalogue photograph - the cup with very fine firing cracks to upper and lower terminals of handle and some minute wear to gilding on handle. Minute nick to upper rim of cup and some wear to gilding around upper rim. Some wear to gilt band around footrim. The saucer with a few minor scattered surface glaze scratches and some scattered minor chipping to footrim.
Cup and saucer to the right of the catalogue photograph - the cup with firing cracks running around the outside of and across the upper and lower terminals of the handle, and with some minute wear to gilding of handle. Some flaking and wear to gilt band around footrim. Slight wear to gilding on upper rim. The saucer with small glazed and gilded chip from time of manufacture at about 2 o'clock (just visible in catalogue photograph). Losses to gilding of border all around the rim. Slightly matt appearance to glaze on upper side, due to firing and sanding and matt appearance to underside due to same.
