Each a woodblock print, and comprising:

1) Poem by Ise: Masaemon's Wife Otani, from the series Ogura Imitations of One Hundred Poems by One Hundred Poets (Ogura nazorae hyakunin isshu), signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga, censor’s seal Kinugasa (Kinugasa Fusajiro), published by Ibaya Senzaburo (Dansendo), circa 1845-48

2) Bingo Province: Takagi Umanosuke, from the series The Sixty-odd Provinces of Great Japan (Dai Nihon rokujuyoshu no uchi), signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga, with artist’s seal Kiri; inset signed by Kuniyoshi's pupil Utagawa Yoshisato Monjin Ichiyosai Yoshisato ga, censor’s seal Watari (Watanabe Shoemon), published by Fujiokaya Hikotaro (Shogendo), circa 1845

3) Yamabuki Gozen, from the series Lives of Wise and Heroic Women (Kenjo reppu den), signed Chooro Kuniyoshi ga, published by Ibaya Senzaburo (Dansendo), circa 1841-42

4) Yugao: Yazama’s Wife Orie, from the series Genji Clouds Matched with Ukiyo-e (Genji kumo ukiyo-e awase), signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga with artist’s seal Kiri, censor’s seal Watari (Watanabe Jiemon), published by Iseya Ichiemon, circa 1845-46

5) The Syllable Wa, from the series Index of Representative Proverbs (Tatoegusa oshie hayabiki), signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga, censor’s seal Taka (Takano Shin’emon), published by Aritaya Seiemon (Yueido), circa 1843
Each a vertical oban:
