This set of shunga is known for it's imaginative designs including a European couple, and an older man with a young male actor dressed as a woman.

Sylvia Lacan (1908-1993) and thence by descent to the present owner. Sylvia Lacan was married to the French intellectual Georges Bataille (1897-1962), then the psychoanalyst Jacques Lacan (1901-1981).
