Gordon & MacPhail 85 Years Old from Glenlivet Distillery, Decanter #1 and Personalized Experience


THE OCCASION
On Thursday 2 October 2025, Gordon & MacPhail revealed the ‘Artistry in Oak’ decanter design by internationally acclaimed American architect Jeanne Gang, marking the release of the oldest single malt Scotch ever bottled – Gordon & MacPhail 85 Years Old from Glenlivet Distillery.

As part of this landmark release, Gordon & MacPhail is supporting American Forests, the oldest national non-profit conservation organisation in the United States - a leader in forest restoration – via the online auction of Decanter #1 in partnership with Christie’s.

THE FRAMED CASK END
As well as Decanter #1, the lot will include the cask end of cask 336, which nurtured the single malt Scotch whisky for over eight decades, presented in a bespoke frame.

THE PERSONALIZED TASTING EXPERIENCE
Private tasting for up to four people nominated by the buyer (“attendees”) hosted by either Stephen Rankin (Director of Prestige, Gordon & MacPhail and 4th Generation family member) or Richard Urquhart (Sales Director, Gordon & MacPhail and 4th Generation family member). The tasting shall be held at a location and at a time both mutually agreed between the buyer and Gordon & MacPhail. The buyer shall be solely responsible for the travel, accommodation, subsistence and other costs of the attendees incurred in connection with the tasting.

BENEFITTING AMERICAN FORESTS
The auction conducted online by Christie’s, opening for bids on Friday 7th November and concluding on Friday 21st November 2025, will see proceeds of the lot (minus costs) donated to the American Forests, to support their work dedicated to creating healthy and resilient forests in cities and large landscapes, including the regeneration and long-term sustainability of America’s oak-dominated forests essential for whisky maturation.
