Lot Essay

Compare the work to a very similar Tibeto-Chinese figure of Green Tara, which sold at Christie’s New York 22 March 2023, lot 347, for $9,450. The works are similarly sized, proportioned and share similar physiognomy, though the comparable example depicts a different manifestation of Tara, noted by the lotus stalks on either side.
