The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired since its initial manufacture.
- All badges are faded
Golden pheasant badges:
- Both have pinprick holes, small tears, and splitting along the borders
- Extensive loss to the gold-threads, particularly to the border and the auspicious emblems
Mandarin duck/golden pheasant badges:
- Both are missing the gold-threads in the ground and the border
- Both have small tears and splitting along the border
Silver pheasant badge:
- A small area of staining on the body
- Extensive splitting along the left and right borders
- Some small areas of loss and abrasion along the borders
