The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired since its initial manufacture.
serpentine carving of three peaches and chilong:
- appears to be in overall good condition except for a few minor nicks to the extremities
a mottled beige and green jade cat:
- loss to tail and two hind feet, and possibly to the proper left front paw
- a few expected minute nicks to the edges
a jade/turquoise matrix pear-shaped vase:
- a small shallow chip and a small crack with associated minor loss to the mouth, and the mouth rim may have been slightly polished
- a chip to the foot and a few nicks to the inner foot rim, and the foot rim is polished in some areas
- two strokes carved on the underside of the base possibly reading ba (eight)
a greenish-white serpentine figure of a recumbent mythical beast:
- appears to be in overall good condition except for minor bruises to a few toes
an opaque grey and brown seated figure of a horse:
- appears to be in overall good condition
a pair of yellow stone ducks:

- chip to a few toes and small areas of polish to the ends of the wings
a pair of moss green jade carvings of cockerels:

- chip to the tip of a few feathers, some of which have been polished
- a few expected minute nicks to the edges and extremities
a mottled moss green jade figure of a recumbent mythical animal:
- appears to be in overall good condition except a few minor surface scratches to the base
three soapstone carvings of immortals:

- a few expected minor bruises and nicks and some light surface scratches
standing figure with a gourd:
- a minor loss to the top of the head
seated luohan:
- shallow chips and nicks to the bottom edge
figure holding a box:
- chips to top of box and one bottom corner of rock
- a few areas of possible polished loss, including to the top of the head and an area on the proper left side
a serpentine carving of a lotus leaf and frog:
- appears to be in overall good condition except for minor polishing and a few nicks to the leaf’s edge
a pair of pale green jade figures of elephants with long trunks:

- the tip of one elephant’s trunk might have been recarved
a modern spinach-green jade figure of a bear (signed David):
- appears to be in overall good condition except for expected light wear and a few cut marks to feet
a turquoise matrix group of female immortals:
- appears to be in overall good condition
- possible minor nicks to the edges and extremities
a black stone carving of a pig:
- appears to be in overall good condition
a pale greenish-white jade belt hook:
- appears to be in overall good condition
- the belt hook is affixed to a metal mount and has not been examined without the mouth
a greyish-brown and russet figure of a recumbent dog:
- a small chip to both ears, and the surface is a bit rough
