The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
The jar and cover:
- There are an approx. 0.6 cm. wide surface chip the glaze on the foot rim, and a small shallow chip to the foot rim.
- There are glaze crackles inside the cover.
- There are a few nicks to the cover's inner rim.
- There are a few firing cracks, the larger one measuring approx. 3 cm. to the cover.
- There are a few firing spots.
The salt-cellars:
- One with a few small chips and nicks to the mouth rim.
- The other one with a firing crack and a firing fault to the base, and a few burst glaze bubbles to the mouth rim.
- There are some pin-size glaze gaps.
The three pieces with general age-related surface wear, scratches and minute firing faults as can be expected.
