The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired since its initial manufacture.
One cover:
- a few chips to the outer mouth rim and some minor flaws including short firing cracks, iron spots and frits to the top
The other cover:
- a short firing crack to the top and a few minor frits to the edges
- a few glaze gaps to the interior
One vase:
- a restored crack approx. 5 in./12.7 cm. extends from mouth to the body with associated large rim chip
The other vase:
- a small chip and a few nicks to the outer mouth rim and to the foot
- a shallow chip to the inner foot rim, which is a bit rough
- leans slightly
Both vases:
- a few glaze gaps and short firing cracks
All:
- some expected surface wear due to age and use- glaze is streaky
