The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of these pieces acquired after their initial manufacture.
One plate:
- There is a star-crack in the well.
- There is a Y-shaped crackle (visible under the plate) in the well.
- There is a potting fault on the rim.
The other plate:
- There is an approx. 3.5 cm. long hairline going down from the mouth rim.
Both:
- There are some kiln grit adhesions to the foot rim.
- There are some firing faults.
- There are a few minute nicks to the foot rim.
- There are some small losses of enamel and wear to the enamels.
- There is some wear to the gilding.
- General age-related surface wear and scratches as can be expected.
