The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
- one chair with repaired break and pinning to where the crest rail joins the back splat
Both:
-a few of the carved scrollwork elements have been off and restuck, a few with repaired breaks
-expected age cracks, flakes and loss to lacquer particularly to the legs and feet, chips, nicks and small losses to edges, and a few areas of lifting of the lacquer
-expected wear and loss to the pigments and gilt , and wear to feet
-expected areas of touch up to the lacquer
