The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired since its initial manufacture.
Candlestick:
- one smaller candlestick restuck
- a few small chips to the edges and a few spur marks, some with associated minor loss, which are original to manufacture
- a small nick to the foot rim
Jizhou bowl:
- a large (approx. 4 in./10.2 cm wide) and a smaller restored or made
- up area with associated overpainting to the mouth, and the glazed area is mostly covered with a transparent coating
- a shallow chip above the foot and a few other small chips to the foot rim
Qingbai dish:
- a trapezoidal section (approx. 2.5 in./6.3 cm. wide) restuck to the side
- a Y-shape hairline (the longest branch approx. 1 in./2.5 cm.) to the base
brown glazed vase:
- the vase leans
- some surface abrasion and loss/glaze degradation particularly to one side of the body, and some other surface scratches
