The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
baluster vase:
- The mouth rim is bound with a metal mount and a small shallow chip is visible on the underside of mouth; the vase has not been examined without the mount
- A shallow chip to one handle; both handles with a short firing crack to where they join the shoulder, and one of which has an associated flaw under the glaze
- Some expected wear and surface scratches to glaze, and some kiln grit adhesion and irregularity to the foot

hu-form vase:
- In overall good condition for works of this type and age
- Leans slightly
- Two unobtrusive hairlines to the mouth rim; another short glaze line extends upward from foot rim on the exterior
- A few firing cracks and fritting to the mouth rim and to the top edge of each handle; a few other short firing cracks to foot
- The glaze runs thin on a few raised decorations
