The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired since its initial manufacture.
Larger censer:
- a large chip to the underside of the mouth rim
- several fine hairlines extending from the mouth rim to the body
- the interior to one side has a large kiln adhesion and a linear burst bubble which exposes the clay body
Smaller censer:
- several hairline cracks throughout the body
- two of the feet have been off and re-stuck
- three large spur marks to the interior
- some firing flaws including small bumps and glaze gaps to the interior, the underside of the rim, and the base, which are all inherent to manufacture
Charger:
- the charger is slightly misshapen and has some areas of restoration
- the crackle is stained
- the foot rim and base have some kiln grit
