The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired since its initial manufacture.
Both:
- Have not been examined without the mounts
- Expected tarnishing of the metal
Taller:
- A bifurcated hairline extends from the mouth rim to the body
- Some fritting to the edges, such as the rim of spout and edges of handle
- A few short and fine firing cracks to here the handle joins the body
- A few minute nicks to the foot rim
Shorter:
- A repaired break to handle
- A minor chip and a nick to the foot rim of pot
- Minute nicks to the rim of flange and a frit to the tip of final on the cover
- The metal mounts for connecting the pot with over is missing
