The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

This folio is in a good and stable condition overall. The painting has some small areas of creasing and there are occasional small losses to the paper around the edge of the painting and a very narrow area in the lower part of the painting, measuring only 2cm. in length. The pigments remain clear overall, although the pigments of the tree in the centre of the background are slightly faded. There is a very small stain to the paper in the body of the figure seated on the right hand side of mat, that measures approx. 8mm. in diameter. The borders have some very small wormholes and abrasions, mainly to the lower edge. There is some discolouration to the outer edges of the border and there are occasional small creases, including a small crease or repaired tear in the upper right corner measuring 7cm. in length. The folio has been mounted onto plain card. The reverse is clean overall. There are some areas of discolouration, probably from previous tape placement, at the upper, left and right hand edges. There are small areas of tape residue at the upper edge.
