The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
This folio is in a good condition overall. The pigments remain strong, but there is some minor pigment loss mainly to the upper part of the sky in the painting. The white pigments have some very minor discolouration which is only visible upon close inspection. There are two faint creases running upwards from the lower edge of the folio, the largest measuring approximately 10cm. on the right hand side. The borders have some light discolouration in the upper right corner, otherwise they are clean overall. The lower right corner has a light pencil inscription '9' and there are two further small, faint pencil marks in the border around the upper right corner of the painting. The reverse is plain. The left hand edge has a ribbon attached from previous mounting as an album. There is some very light discolouration to the reverse and four small inscriptions in pen and pencil.
