The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The gold mounts of the hilt with minor scratches to surface and small areas of damage. The mother of pearl section of the hilt with small areas of discolouration, a few minor chips and cracks. Small areas of pink staining visible to the inside of the quillon block and to the upper end of the blade where it joins the hilt, probably caused by the pink velvet fabric of the sheath. Small areas of pitting to the blade visible at the forte. The blade with a few small scattered areas of tarnish and some scratches, more visible along the edges. The sheath with some wear.
