The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
The sword:
- There are kirikomi on the mune, approx. 15 cm. up from the machi, and some occasional kizu, otherwise good condition.
The koshirae:
- Overall koshirae is in good condition with later lacquer.
- The upper inlay of the kogai hitsuana plug is lacking.
- The kurikata [retaining hook] has slight chips to the edges and some discolouration.
- There is slight wear to the tsuka [hilt] and metal fittings.
