The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
-There is overall loss to the slip on the surface, with some remaining with black pigment on the head, as well as some earth encrustation on the base
-There are repaired breaks to the ears (one possibly replaced), muzzle, neck, tail, legs, base and arms and hands of the equestrian, with some associated fill and overpainting
-The number 63.8 is painted in red on the base
