The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture.
-The head has been off and restuck, with a few small scattered losses
-The robe has scattered chips to the edges of the three layers and the base as well as one large chip to the back of the robe
-There is a long crack running around the proper right lower end of the robe, which is possibly a restuck piece
-The end of the scroll is restored
-There is a chip to the proper left knee under the robe
-The edges of the robe at the chest appear to have some polish
-There are minute nicks to the back of the cowl and to the surface overall
