A CREAMY WHITE JADE 'VASE' GROUP
CHINA, 18TH CENTURY
The group is well carved with two vases and a cup-form vessel formed by a curled leaf. The larger vase has handles in the form of archaistic phoenix, behind a crane standing on a thick lingzhi branch which meanders around the vases. There is a ram next to the crane, which is standing on rocks and leaning against a pine tree. The stone is of a creamy tone with some paler snowy inclusions and some darker russet areas.
7 in. (17.8 cm.) wide, wood stand
