A GROUP OF FOUR BLUE AND WHITE FLORAL DISHES
CHINA, QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)
The group comprises a pair of circular dishes and two larger examples, each dish is decorated en suite with a fenced rockwork garden enclosing a chrysanthemum and a peony bloom surrounded by a band of lotus, surrounded by chrysanthemum and peony at the scalloped rim.
The largest 14 ¾ in. (37.6 cm.) diam.

These serving dishes are characteristic examples of Chinese porcelain specifically made for the West. They would have been part of a large dinner service that adorned the tables of the European elite.
