Born in Guangzhou and eventually settling in Malaysia, Liu Chuncao studied Chinese painting under Chen Shuren (1884-1948) and became a major figure of the Lingnan School of Painting. Passionate about promoting Chinese culture overseas, he has participated in numerous exhibitions worldwide. Though he is known to have mastered many different types of painting, the one on offer exhibits his spontaneous use of the brush and adept application of color.
