A PAINTED ENAMEL DISH
CHINA, 18TH CENTURY
The dish is decorated in the center with a scene of two scholars playing wei qi accompanied by an attendant underneath a pine tree in a landscape, encircled by a narrow band of five bats in flight amidst composite floral scroll reserved on a yellow ground. The exterior is decorated with a grape vine scroll, and the base is enameled in blue with a phoenix roundel.
