A PAIR OF PARCEL-GILT SILVER BOWLS AND COVERS
CHINA, LATE 17TH CENTURY
Each bowl is decorated with three shaped panels enclosing applied gilt branches of lotus, orchids and peonies, all on a snakeskin and diaper ground. The covers are decorated with butterflies amongst branches of prunus and are further embellished with a shou character finial surrounded by a ruyi-head band.
