THREE LACQUER INRO
JAPAN, EDO PERIOD, 19TH CENTURY
The first four-case inro decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e, togidashi and kirikane and inlaid in mother-of-pearl with a lantern beside a plum tree continuing to the other side above the moon, karakusa along the edges and to the top and bottom, all against a black ground, nashiji interiors, signed Jokasai on the base, attached lacquer netsuke with birds amongst a pine tree; the second four-case inro decorated in gold and silver hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and kinpun and inlaid in mother-of-pearl, each side with a bird beneath wisteria against a black ground, nashiji interiors, signed Kajikawa saku with pot seal Ei on the base, attached bronze netsuke of a bird; the third three-case inro decorated in gold, silver and red hiramaki-e and togidashi with three cranes beside pine in a coastal landscape against a black ground, nashiji interiors, signed Koma Koryu on the base.
