The work is not framed. A crack in the paint layer (approximately 2 cm.) is present on the tail of the white bird. There is an area of craquelures visible in sky portion of the composition, to the right of the bat (approximately 5 x 2 cm.) There is circular area of cracking in upper left sky area (approximately 1 x 1 cm.) Craquelures are visible over the fur of the cat. Yellowing of varnish is visible in some areas of the painting's surface. On the lower region of the canvas, slight bubble wrap imprints are visible. When examined under ultraviolet light, no inpainting is apparent.
