Lot Essay
Renowned photographer and co-founder of Magnum Pictures David Seymour captured Audrey in a series of images during dance rehearsals for Funny Face, which accompanied a feature in Coronet Magazine, November, 1956, titled Audrey Hepburn Goes Back to the Bar. In the article, Audrey explained Ballet taught me discipline. Like knowing how to relax without looking sloppy... Ballet teaches you to make every movement and gesture meaningful. The larger: Gelatin silver print on semi-gloss double weight paper trimmed to edge. Surface scratches and handling creases throughout the print. There are no other apparent condition issues.
The smaller two: 11⅞ x 8½ in. (30.2 x 21.5 cm.) and smaller overall good condition, scuffs, nicks and creases recto, surface paper loss at corners verso due to tape removal
