A typescript letter, signed, from Gregory Peck to Audrey Hepburn on 375 North Carolwood Drive headed stationery, dated 26 July, 1989, the one page letter informing her that he has been asked to M.C. an award presentation evening in her honour by the USA Film Festival So that you will know, I told them that if Miss Hepburn accepts, they can get back to me and I would most likely agree to come, (for the next installment of the Audrey and Greg show), advising her You must do whatever you want to do, as far as this new accolade is concerned. Sometimes these people do tend to distort things a bit, usually with good intentions for their cause, and thanking her again for hosting the American Film Insitute presentation of his Lifetime Achievement Award You were beyond everything. Lot Essay

Although this letter dates to 1989, Hepburn was in fact honoured herself two years later by the USA Film Festival in Dallas for her contribtion to motion pictures, telling the Dallas Morning News It's wonderful, but at the same time... you just die in a way. I mean, all those compliments... It's like eating too much chocolate cake all at once. You sort of don't believe any of it, yet you're terribly grateful. Gregory Peck had been the first honoree in 1974.
