Maurice Chevalier as Claude Chavasse played Audrey Hepburn's father in Love in the Afternoon. According to biographer Barry Paris, Chevalier ...won her heart with a telegram on the first day of shooting: "How proud I would be, and full of love I would be, if I really had a daughter like you."
