Costume jeweller and renowned friend to the stars, Kenneth Jay Lane designed for Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor and Jackie Kennedy among others. His life and joie de vivre have recently been celebrated following the sad news of his death last year.

Audrey Hepburn was photographed wearing the earrings in this lot at an evening event which Getty Images cite as at Burlington Hotel, Dublin, 1 October 1988.
