Lot Essay

My Most Unforgettable Child was a specially recorded programme for United Nations Radio, with seven stars of stage and screen narrating the tales of Unicef fieldworkers as they remembered the most unforgettable children they had met around the world, from orphans in Warsaw to sick children in the Philippines. Hepburn narrates a story by Unicef worker Alice Schafer about six little girls in Nicaragua, after first introducing herself as …a little like a walking United Nations myself. Over thirty years later, Audrey would become a Goodwill Ambassador to Unicef in 1989. Four sides, approximately 29 minutes 20 seconds in total, with 2 minutes 40 seconds featuring Audrey Hepburn.

For the French Broadcasting System in North America, Audrey Hepburn and Ray Milland read, in French, the comedy L’Ecole des Femmes or ‘The School for Wives’ by seventeenth century French playwright Molière. 3 minutes 57 seconds. Side 2 with Greetings from Mr. Pierre Descaves, Mr. Denis d’Ines, Mrs. Beatrice Bretty.
