'The prints that Boyd produced between 1962 and 1972 are arguably his finest achievements in the graphic arts. ... By 1970 Boyd had fully mastered the process of the aquatint. Lysistrata was conceived in this tonal technique that highlighted the dramatic contrast between black ink and white paper.' (Roger Butler 'Making Prints in England 1962-72' in D.
