Lot Essay

The Moholy-Nagy photogram is significant in that it is the last photogram he made and is one of the finest of his Chicago period. Moholy since the early 20s when he started to do photograms always did the set up (often with an assistant) but rarely processed photograms. This was done by his assistants. In 1920s Lucia Moholy, his wife, in 1940-41 Milton Halberstadt and during the last year of his life it was his ex-student and colleague Arthur Siegel.
