For the second year running, Christie’s France is calling on experts Marc Breyne and Alain Huberty to assist with the organisation of its comics sale. This is a rare opportunity to acquire some of the best original illustrations by the great masters of the genre – works reflecting the entire history of European comics, from the great Hergé, Paul Cuvelier and Jacques Martin, first published in the pages of Spirou and Tintin, to recent exponents like Nicolas De Crécy and Brüno. Included are works by the Pilote and Métal Hurlant generation (Albert Uderzo, Moebius, Bilal), the autobiographical cartoonists of the turn of the century (David B.) and, of course, the inimitable Philippe Geluck, François Avril and Milo Manara, artists impossible to pigeonhole. This is an event no comics aficionado should miss.
