The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Each with wear to the enameling and rubbing to gilt decoration. Minute fritting to the rims on each, some areas with touched up gilding.
The plates: one with overpaint to the reverse of the plate at 1 and 2 o'clock (4 in. wide approx.) which is covering various lines and a repaired chip. Another small portion of overpaint at 11 o'clock (1 ¼ in. wide approx.) possibly covering a short line or small chip. The other with a long line at 2 o'clock (3 ¼ in. approx.) extending into the plate, now with overpaint that is yellowed and flaking. An additional small area of overpaint along the edge at 12 o'clock (1 in. approx.) and at 4 o'clock (3 in. approx.).
The soup plates: one with two short areas of overpaint along the edge at 10 o'clock and 4 o'clock (1 in. approx., each). The other with two lines overpainted, one at 10 o'clock (2 ¾ in. approx., extending into the well) and at 4 o'clock (3 ¾ in. approx, extending into the well), now yellowed and flaking. Another short area of overpaint along the edge at 12 o'clock (1 ½ in. approx.).
