The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue, the sheet has been trimmed (the upper margin measuring 1 ¼-in. the lower margin measuring 1 ½-in., the left margin measuring 1 5/8-in., the right margin measuring 1 7/8-in.), pale mat and time staining, a pale foxmark in the lower right of the subject, occasional pale foxmarks in places in the margins and on the reverse, occasional soft handling creases in places, a very minor 1/8-in. area of skinning the lower margin, a ¾-in. loss in the right margin (with an associated ½-in. nick), a ¼-in. loss at the lower sheet edge
