Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture. There are small chips to the sword hilt, the edge of the flywisk, Lu Dongbing's thumb, and the leaves of the fruit in the basket. There is some pitting to the glaze surface. Minor hairlines to hair ties of the attendant and possible restoration to the flywisk (though it is imperceptible under UV light). The rockwork base on the interior has a one-inch hairline running vertically down the center possibly partly due to original firing conditions and a firing flaw to the exterior base.
