A DEHUA GUANYIN
20TH CENTURY
The Goddess of Mercy is seated in royal ease on a rocky plinth, her hands folded and concealed beneath the folds of her long robe, wearing jewelry and a tiara in her upswept hair with braids, a bottle and a ribboned scroll on a separate ledge beside her. There are two impressed seal marks on the back, one gourd-shaped, Dehua, one square, He Chaozong yin, repeated on the interior. The glaze is a blue-tinged, white tone.
