The figure of Wen Chang, the Daoist God of Literature, is dressed in long robes belted twice at the high and low waist, seated on a rocky outcrop, a scroll in his left hand, the other hand concealed beneath his sleeve, with a contemplative expression and wearing a cloth cap. The thick glaze is a cream-ivory tone with a network of wide crackling.
