The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
We have sought to record changes in the condition of this piece acquired after its initial manufacture. There are a few minor iron specks originating with the manufacture of the piece in the kiln firing. There is a two-inch firing crack on the interior, two of the curls on the right sideburn are fritted. The front left edge of the robe appears discolored under blacklight but restoration cannot be felt. There are minute nicks to the edges of the robe on the lower portion of the figure. The modeling is strong and sculptural.
