QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
Each vignette is set in a slab-constructed, rectangular stage-like box, the recessed areas front and back containing figures on horseback, warriors or ladies in architectural interiors, possibly depicting opera or literary scenes, the borders carved as stylized tiles enclosing bird, foliage and antique vessel motifs, the sides plain. The glaze is a creamy white tone.
