Lot Essay

The Saturn V rocket for the Apollo 8 mission was manned by astronauts Frank Borman, James Lovell Jr., and William Anders. The core mission of Apollo 8 - which was successfully achieved - was to demonstrate successful navigation of the Command and Service Module (CSM), and to test mid-course correctoin and thermal control of the spacecraft. Among the backup crew for this mission were a certain Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.
