詳情
Johannes Duns Scotus (1265-1308)
Quaestiones in primum librum Sententiarum Petri Lombardi, edited by Antonius Trombetta (1476-1517/18?). Venice: [Printer of Duns Scotus, 'Quaestiones'], for Antonius Bononiensis and Christophorus Bellapiera, 19 November 1472.
Second edition of a foundation text of medieval philosophy and theology, and one of only 7 editions (the only one securely dated) assigned to this early Venetian, eponymous press. It follows by just 2 weeks the first edition, printed by Vindelinus de Spira also at Venice, and represents a separate recension, edited by Antonius Trombetta, later Bishop of Urbino and author of a work on the doctrine of Duns Scotus. The Sentences of Peter Lombard were fundamental to scholastic theology and a principle text of the university curriculum; Duns Scotus’ text was based on his own university study, and the present copy, with its extensive annotations engaging deeply with the text, reflects its continued use and importance. H 6423*; CIBN D-261; GW 9080; BMC V 212; BSB-Ink. D-301; Bod-inc. D-172; Goff D-375; ISTC id00375000.

Median folio (331 x 235mm). 246 leaves (of 248, lacking first leaf and without final blank). Initials and paragraph marks alternating in red and blue, some contemporary quiring preserved (a few minor stains, some quire guards and earlier reinforcements at hinge, 7/2 torn at hinge, neat repair in 15/6). 18th-century Italian vellum-backed pastepaper board, flat spine lettered in ink, blue edges (lightly worn, a few light stains).
來源
extensively annotated throughout by a contemporary Italian scholar, likely associated with the university at Padua or Bologna.
