From left to right (i): Edgar Mitchell, Lunar Module Pilot (LMP); Alan Shepard, Commander (CDR) and Stuart Roosa, Command Module Pilot (CMP). The Apollo 14 emblem is emblazoned in the background. The Apollo 14 mission marked Shepard’s return to spaceflight after a decade of being grounded due to an inner ear condition.
