Lot Essay

Together with the previous Lot (AS11-37-5472), i. from the present Lot (AS11-37-5475) forms part of a photomosaic of Tranquility Base from the lunar module soon after the first moon walk (for a panoramic example, see Christie's, London, November 6-20, 2020, Lot 363). The module casts a striking shadow against the lunar surface, where the footprints left by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin are clearly visible (i & ii).
