Overall condition fair, shows signs of normal wear.
The opal is crazed with some cracks reaching the surface. The colors of the opals are primarily light orange and green. The opal is semi-translucent.
The ruby is purplish pink with facet abrasions and typical inclusions. The diamonds are bright and lively, HI color and VS/SI with a few I clarity.
The diamonds are old European and old mine-cut with small tables and larger open culets.
One diamond is chipped.
The demantoid garnets are bright, several have been replaced. The cuts vary from full to single-cut.
Solder repair is evident on the back of the brooch.
The emeralds are probably not original to the piece.
